SDYSS Elevator Deepens Domestic Old Elevator Renovation Market, Securing 18 Projects in H1 2023 to Precisely Meet Diverse Scenario Needs

In the first half of 2023, as China’s policy on “renovation and renewal of old urban elevators” continued to advance, the demand for elevator renovation in scenarios such as old residential communities, state-owned enterprise office buildings, and hospital logistics buildings was concentrated. Seizing market opportunities, SDYSS Elevator successfully secured 18 domestic elevator renovation projects by virtue of its advantages in “customized solutions + efficient implementation services”. Covering Jiangsu, Shandong, and Sichuan provinces, these projects span three core scenarios: residential communities, commercial supporting facilities, and medical logistics, further consolidating its competitiveness in the domestic mid-end renovation market.

Over 60% of the winning projects involve elevators in old residential communities built more than 15 years ago. These elevators generally suffer from problems such as unstable operation, high energy consumption, and outdated safety configurations (e.g., lack of emergency leveling function, slow door operator response). To meet the core needs of “safety first + low-disturbance construction” in residential scenarios, SDYSS team spent one month conducting on-site surveys for each elevator: using professional equipment to detect guide rail wear and traction machine noise, while collecting residents’ personalized needs for elevator load capacity (some old communities required an upgrade from 800kg to 1000kg) and car space (to accommodate wheelchairs). A “core component upgrade + humanized adaptation” plan was finally customized: replacing traditional traction machines with SDYSS independently developed permanent magnet synchronous traction machines (reducing energy consumption by 25%), adding an intelligent monitoring system (real-time monitoring of door operator current and guide rail vibration, with automatic early warning in case of abnormalities), and retrofitting the car for accessibility (widening the door clear width to 900mm, and adding handrails and emergency call buttons).

The remaining projects focus on commercial and medical scenarios: 3 of them are for the renovation of old office building elevators of a state-owned enterprise in Shandong, which require balancing “efficient operation + energy saving”. SDYSS upgraded the elevator control system and optimized the floor stopping logic, reducing waiting time by 15%. Another 2 projects involve the renovation of logistics elevators in a county-level hospital in Sichuan. Considering the demand for medical material transportation, SDYSS specially reinforced the car floor (increasing load capacity to 1200kg) and adopted corrosion-resistant interior panels (suitable for disinfection environments). Meanwhile, it promised “time-phased construction” — avoiding work during peak visiting hours to ensure medical material transportation is not affected during renovation.

To ensure efficient project implementation, SDYSS established a “dedicated project team” mechanism: each renovation project is assigned 1 technical leader + 2 on-site engineers, providing “one-on-one” services throughout the process — from pre-survey of parameters and plan confirmation, to mid-term parts supply (prioritizing domestic warehouse stock to shorten delivery cycle to 7 days), and post-installation debugging (average construction cycle controlled at 10 days per unit). In response to potential issues during renovation, such as non-standard shaft dimensions in old buildings and aging original circuits, the team formulated emergency plans in advance, such as customizing adaptive guide rail brackets via laser cutting and replacing old circuits with flame-retardant cables, ensuring the renovated elevators fully comply with the latest requirements of GB 7588-2023 Elevator Manufacturing and Installation Safety Code.

By the end of June 2023, 12 out of the 18 renovation projects had been delivered, and the remaining 6 were in the debugging stage. The property manager of an old residential community in Jiangsu commented: “The noise of the renovated elevators has decreased by 30%, waiting time has shortened, and resident complaints have dropped significantly. SDYSS has a very fast service response — any problem can be solved on the same day.” The Director of SDYSS Domestic Business stated that the company will continue to focus on the domestic old elevator renovation market, refine solutions combining standardization and customization for different scenarios, and further expand project coverage.
